If You're Into It by Flight of the Conchords.
*I've been married for a year.
Stuff I have learned this past year:
* Compromise, communication, empathy, compassion, it's much easier to focus on one's personal needs and wants than to take into consideration another. I want to say being married is hard work, but it's no more hard work than any other relationship I have right now. Relationships are hard work, period. Only now , in the one I have with my husband, I have the pressure of being legally bound to another person.
* It still feels weird to be called wife and to call someone husband.
* I've become more sentimental. If I see a wedding scene in a movie or a t.v. show, I flash back to my own wedding.
* However, I still can not watch wedding planning shows or see bridal magazines without hyperventilating and having a panic attack.
Our Anniversary Plans:
The weather is going to be nice and warm today. We're taking a picnic lunch to the park. After we eat, we will write each other love letters about the past year. Because we are that gay for each other. (There might be a round of Disc golf.)
